Is ice your passion? It's summer but you can't wait to get your ice axes in hand again? Then your wardrobe can't be without the Polaris, the trousers designed and developed in every smallest detail to meet all the requirements of an ice specialist. The Polaris were born from the collaboration and feedback received from professional mountaineers such as the Ragni di Lecco, deep connoisseurs of all icy terrain. The main fabric used is a 2.5-layer with excellent performance in terms of waterproofness (10,000 mm water column) and breathability (10,000 g / sqm / 24 hours). Breathable yet at the same time waterproof; water vapour is carried to the outside and snow and ice do not penetrate inside. A very sturdy 3L big ripstop fabric, also 10K/10K, was used on the leg hem to protect from ski edges and crampons and on the upper front of the legs to guard against any abrasion caused by ice screws hanging from the harness. Particular attention was paid to the development of the leg hem: two flaps with Velcro adjust its width so as to make it snug both when using ski boots during approaches and ice boots during climbs, thus minimising the possibility of catching it with crampons and scratching it with edges. At the bottom there is also a long zip and gusset and inside there is an adjustable internal gaiter with button and Velcro that can be removed if not needed. Excellent fit is instead ensured by the waist adjustment via flap with Velcro and by the ergonomic shape of the knees, which leave maximum freedom of movement while climbing. Provision for adding braces if desired. Two long zips with double sliders on the sides allow excellent heat management and ventilation during approaches. The pockets too have been designed to be easily accessible while wearing the harness. Nothing left to chance for the Polaris trousers; always dry and never cold. The ideal trousers for tackling vertical ice!
